Join the team! 2024-25 season jobs
Blizzard Hockey is looking for several people to fill operational roles for the program in 2024-25.

These are remunerated/paid positions. Other paid time committments during the season include working on Sunday afternoons at the 50/50 draw. Indicate your interest in that also by emailing: info@capebretonblizzard.ca

Operations Personnel (two or three positions)
On site every weekend as scheduled by League Convenor/President
· Available to work weekends on location for association activities
· Manage Equipment (on ice equipment, tablets, A/V cables)
· Distribute and collect jerseys, track assigned numbers on Gray Jay
· Manage sale of socks/apparel pick ups on weekends
· Ensure payment of officials and timekeepers for local league games
· Arrange for the repair of jerseys and equipment where necessary
· Maintain inventory tracking of uniforms, equipment, goalie gear
· Request equipment purchases through Executive Officers
· Assist apparel manager with distribution
· Other duties as assigned
Development Co-Ordinator - report to Vice-President
Average: 3-4 hrs of time / weekly organizing
· Ensure the participation of skills and skating instructors, goaltending instructors and other special guests at development ice sessions
· Deploying the resources needed for each development time as per budget
· Attend Board of Directors meetings if requested
· The Development Coordinator is responsible for the smooth operation of the Association's development program ice times
· Liaise with Hockey Nova Scotia's Development personnel and the Association's hockey development volunteers and vendors
· Assist the League Convenor with player placement;
Player Development Advisor – Report to: Vice-President
Time committment 60 hrs throughout season
· Observe and advise coaches
· Observe players and recommend approaches to skills development
· Work with different age groups and skill levels to design appropriate learning
Game Officials Coordinator
Report to Vice-President
Average 3 hrs /weekly organizing
· Oversee the scheduling of clock officials / timekeepers and maintain a work log of all off-ice officials which may be requested from time to time by the Executive;
· Ensure the timekeepers are trained on GrayJay and know how to properly record a game on GrayJay or a gamesheet
· Ensure timekeepers are aware of the rink clock and our alloted time
· Ensure with age-appropriate approved music playlists developed in coordination with the teams.
· Oversee AV content for in arena tech requirements
· Liaise with Gray Jay about systems issues
First shift Coordinator / New Player onboarding
Report to League Convenor/President
Approximately 60 hours in Sept-Dec
· Manage the on-ice experience of six First Shift sessions or other intro programs
· Transition players into local league teams
· Support new players to the association by connecting them to League Convenor, Fundraising Coordinator and Player Account Administrator
· Other duties aas assigned relating to new players.
